Lord Shri Rama

Lord Shri Rama:

Ram is the 7th incarnation of Vishnu and the central figure of the Ramayana (Ramayan) epic. The Ramayan is the very soul of India. It is a complete guide to God-realization, the path to which lies in righteousness. The ideals of man are beautifully portrayed in it. Everyone should emulate those ideals and grow into ideal human beings and ideal citizens.Ram, by Sapna JohariRam took birth to free the earth from the cruelty and sins of the demon King Ravana (Ravan). Ravana had practiced austerities in order to propitiate Shiva and Brahma, who had granted him immunity from being killed by gods, gandharvas or demons. One of the gods had to take on a human form in order to be able to defeat Ravana.

Ram was born as the first son of Dasharatha, king of Ayodhya. Ram's mother was Kausilya. Ram had three brothers : Bharata (Bharat) born from the second wife Kaikeyi, and Lakshmana (Lakshman) and Shatrughna born from the third wife Sumitra.

One day Saint Vishwamitra visited Ayodhya and asked Dashratha to send Ram and Lakshmana with him because the Yakshini (demon) Tarka - with her two sons Mareech and Subahu - were terrifying him and the other saints at his ashram. They were not letting them worship and meditate. Ram went with Lakshmana and Vishwamitra to kill Tarka. On the way to Saint Vishwamitra's ashram there was a dense forest. When they entered the forest Tarka came to kill them but Ram killed her and her son Subahu with a weapon given to him by Vishwamitra. Ram also shot an arrow at Mareech and threw him 100 yojan far away.

Sita and Ram in the gardenLater Ram went with Saint Vishwamitr to Mithila where the wise King Janak ruled. King Janak had organized a svayamvaraa (an acient custom wherein the bride chose her husband of her own accord from amongst a number of suitors). It was announced that whosoever will bend the bow of Lord Shiva will marry King Janak's daughter Sita. Sita was an incarnation of Lakshmi, the consort of Lord Vishnu. But none of the suitors was able to lift Lord Shiva's bow, except Ram. Ram lifted the bow with his one hand and bended it so hard that it even broke.

Sita and Ram in the forestSo Ram got married to Sita, and his brothers got happily married to Sita's sisters. After returning and living happily in Ayodhya the old King Dashrath decided that it was time to give his kingdom to his beloved son Ram. There Kaikeyi, the third and youngest wife of the King, claimed the throne for her son Bharat. A long time before the young Queen had saved the King's life and he had promised to fulfill her two wishes. Manthara, the crooked and evil-minded maid-servant of Kaikeyi influenced the queen to claim her wishes now in favor of her son and to request Dashrath to banish Ram from the kingdom for fourteen years, and to install Bharat on the throne instead. The King was shocked, his heart was broken, but he knew that truth is the highest Dharm, and that he had to fulfill his promise to his wife. So Ram went to exile happily, knowing that to obey and serve his father was the highest duty of a son.

After Ram left to the forest, Dashrath died from the pangs of separation from his beloved son Ram. Bharat went to the forest to meet his brother Ram and to request him to come back to Ayodhya. When Ram refused to return, in honor of the promise to his father, Bharat took Ram's "khadau" (wooden sandals) and placed them symbolically on Ayodhya's throne. Until his brother returned from the exile Bharat served the kingdom as a true and honest caretaker of Ram.

Once Surpnakha, the sister of Ravana, passed by the place where Ram was living. She saw Ram and became impressed by his beauty. She transformed herself into a beautiful lady and went to Ram and asked him to marry her. When Ram refused and told her he is already married to Sita, she became angry. Coming back to her original form she ran towards Sita to kill her. When Lakshman saw that he cut her nose and one ear. Surpnakha then send her brother Khardushan with fourteen thousand rakshasas to avenge her. But all were killed by Ram.

Jatayu leaving his bodySurpnakha now sought vengeance through her older brother Ravana, but only got his interest by pointing out that the beautiful Sita would be a fitting wife for him. Ravana lured Ram and Lakshman away from Sita by sending an enchanted deer of extreme beauty and then took Sita to his kingdom of Lanka. On the way, Jatayu, a vulture bird and old friend of Ram's father Dashrath, fought Ravan but was fatally wounded. He lived only long enough to tell Ram what had happened upon his return.

In Lanka, Ravana tried to threathen Sita into marrying him, but was rejected again and again. Meanwhile, Ram made an alliance with the monkey King Sugreeva, who had been exiled from his kingdom by his brother Bali. Ram helped Sugreeva to regain his kingdom and in return Sugreeva raised an army of monkeys and bears, led by Hanuman. When they reached the sea, Hanuman flew across. On the way he had many adventures.

Hanuman captured in LankaIn Lanka, Hanuman promised Sita that help would come soon. When he was then captured by the rakshasas, Ravana ordered them to set fire to Hanuman's tail, wrapping it with oily rags. But Hanuman increased the length of his tail so much that there seemed no end to it. He escaped and used his burning tail to set fire to all of Lanka.

Meanwhile, Ram's army had build a huge bridge between Lanka and the mainland. They crossed the ocean and attacked Ravana's army. During the battle, Lakshmana was heavily wounded, but he was cured by a magic herb which Hanuman flew all the way to the Himalayas to obtain. Not finding the herb at first, Hanuman brought the entire mountain just to be sure. Finally, all rakshasa generals were killed and the battle become a single combat between Ravana and Ram. Finally, Ram killed Ravana with a special weapon given to him by saint Agastya.

This was a moment of great rejoicing. Ram and Sita were finally crowned King and Queen of Ayodhya, though people were doubting that Sita had preserved her virtue while being Ravana's captive, which is another story in itself.

He is an all-round star––action king and ‘rebel star’ on the silver screen; a Pole Star on the political horizon; and a hero not only in reel life but also in real life. He is none other than U Krishnam Raju. He achieved what no other film star could ever dream of––being a Minister of State first in the External Affairs Ministry and now in the Defence Ministry. He proved to be the right choice for such an onerous job by virtue of his exceptional qualities and exemplary efficiency at work. Behind this tall, towering and fiery personality is a calm, concerned and genuine human being.

Born in Mogalthuru, a small hamlet of the rich West Godavari district on 20th January, 1940, Krishnam Raju entered the film industry soon after his graduation. His very first film––Chilaka Gorinka, directed by Pratyagatma and co-starring Krishnakumari–– bagged the prestigious Silver Nandi Award. Though he entered films as a villain, he metamorphosed into a full-fledged ‘hero’ within a short period. He left his mark as a powerful actor in his 34-year long film career. His persona was so multi-faceted and his talent so exceptional that some roles were actually created for him.

Many in the industry believe that Krishnam Raju alone can suit certain roles. He played a variety of roles in Krishnaveni, Bhaktha Kannappa, Amara Deepam, Mana Voori Pandavulu, Katakatala Rudraiah, Seetha Ramulu, Thrishoolam, Bobbili Bhahmanna, Tandra Paparayudu, etc. He could enact a pious role as elegantly as he did that of an angry young man or a historical character. Recognition for his histrionics came in the form of the President’s Award and Filmfare Award for Amaradeepam and Mana Voori Pandavulu.

Later, he entered the film production field and brought out many successful films under the banner Gopikrishna. He also produced a Hindi film Dharmadhikari starring stalwarts such as Dilip Kumar. He is widely considered as a master producer. Krishnam Raju is an optimist to the core. He is untiring in his pursuits and accepts success and failure with equanimity. In his long journey from Mogalthuru village to the national capital, he always exhibited dedication, honesty and hard work in whatever work he took up. No wonder he has a huge fan following as much in politics as in the film industry.

Krishnam Raju is a versatile personality. Not many people may know that he was once a journalist; he worked as a reporter for the Andhra Patrika. Apart from producing films, he also turned industrialist with his Gopi Krishna Granites, through which he provided employment to hundreds of people. He passionately participates in many social service programmes. Krishnam Raju played a crucial role in launching the open-air theatres in the towns of Vijayawada, Eluru and Nellore. He was a hero in real life too; he stood by the needy people and donated huge amounts to those afflicted by famine, natural calamities, disturbances, and so on. The film industry recognised his leadership qualities by unanimously electing him thrice as president of the Cine Artistes Society.

Krishnam Raju’s shift from filmdom to politics also left commendable records. He contested an unsuccessful election in 1992 for the Narasapuram Lok Sabha seat on a Congress ticket. After a brief hibernation, he rejoined politics, accepting an invitation from the Bharatiya Janata Party. He won the 1998 Lok Sabha election from Kakinada. He set a record with a thumping majority of over 165,000 votes––the maximum majority as compared to any of the 42 other constituencies in AP–– which ensured him a berth at the Centre. He was in the advisory committees of the Information & Broadcasting, and Commerce Ministries during 1998-99.

Born in the motherland of Alluri Sitarama Raju, the great freedom fighter, Krishnam Raju continues to forge ahead with his lasting smile and service, daring and dedicated as Alluri himself. At 61, Krishnam Raju rejuvenates himself with twice-a-day yoga session. He is into transcendental meditation and says that with meditation one can be as active with just two hours of sleep instead of the usual eight hours. He believes that the body is a slave to the mind and that no medicine is more powerful than a controlled mind. He is a voracious reader and takes keen interest in spiritual writings.

Born on Feb 28th 1973 in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh, Sunil's early childhood saw the death of his father when he was just five years old. His mother toiled hard to raise him after this incident.

Sunil's early aspirations to the movie industry were fueled by watching films of Chiranjeevi in the lead role. Watching these films right from elementary school, Sunil dreamt of being a good dancer. Sagi Lakshmi Venkatapathy Raju

Sagi Lakshmi Venkatapathy Raju:

Full name                     :           Sagi Lakshmi Venkatapathy Raju
Born                             :          July 9, 1969, Alamuru
Current age                  :          42 years 73 days
Major teams                 :          India, Hyderabad (India)
Batting style                 :          Right-hand bat
Bowling style               :          Slow left-arm orthodox

Profile:

Venkatpathy Raju has spent almost his entire career in and out of the Indian team. True to his nickname `Muscles', he is a lion hearted bowler, always in the thick of battle. Never afraid to give the ball flight, he entices the best of batsmen to commit mistakes. But there have been times when thanks to his attacking bowling approach, he has conceded far too many runs and this has not gone down well with conservative Indian selectors.

Raju came into prominence in the late 80s as a successor to Maninder Singh. A finger spinner in the classical mould, he settled down well into the side and bowled India to victory in the one-off Test against Sri Lanka in 1990-91. Along with Rajesh Chauhan and Anil Kumble, he seemed to have formed a new spin trio in the early nineties. But in the mid and late 90s, his career saw more downs than ups. However Raju always remained in contention thanks to his excellent performances around the domestic circuit. There is, however, no doubt as to which pitches are suited best to his bowling style - he has picked up 70 wickets at home in 15 Tests as compared to 22 dismissals in 12 Tests on foreign soil. Raju was probably at his best during the 1994-95 series against the West Indies, when in three Tests, he claimed 20 wickets. However since then, his appearances have been sporadic and he was a forgotten man after the 1997-98 series against Australia. Around the domestic circuit however Raju continued to be Hyderabad's bowling mainstay and played a stellar role in the side making the final in the 1999-2000 Ranji Trophy season, with a bag of 52 wickets. He finally retired from first-class cricket in December 2004.

Dr. Mantena Satya Narayana Raju

Dr. Mantena Satya Narayana Raju:

Dr. Mantena Satya Narayana Raju is a famous Naturo Therapist. He hails from the Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh. He is a simple man under four decades of age, appearing in white Khadi Kurta and Pyzama with a candid smile and peaceful voice; preaching his theory of Natural Ways of Living. Once he starts, he preaches unmoved for about 2 to 3 hours continuously to the hundreds of people gathered to listen him.

It is learnt that he drives the car himself and travels miles around various parts of the state to preach on the Natural Ways of Living to the people. The moment he finishes his preaching, people gather around him and each of them raise their doubts. He explains each and every person with utmost patience.

He had conducted several camps at various districts of Andhra Pradesh for various corporate bodies, schools, hospitals and other small and medium enterprises to preach his theory of Natural Ways of Living.

Dr. Raju has begun his endeavor of preaching Natural Ways of Living, since 1994 ie. from the past 12 years across 20 districts of Andhra Pradesh and inspired millions of people towards a healthy and natural way of living. Being the beneficiary, I have no hesitation in claiming that millions of people have gained good health because of Dr. Mantena Satya Naraya Raju’s preaching on Natural Ways of Living. Several lives have been enlightened and many people have overcome the addiction of drugs and alcohol.

Dr. Raju has sowed the seeds of Natural Ways of living in the hearts of millions of people in a very simple and sensitive way. Those seeds are now growing into many branches and forming a huge Tree and giving health benefits to some millions of people. People are temporarily getting rid of the problems of ill health by taking English Medicines. No one is trying to eradicate the root cause of the ill health. Dr. Raju believed that our ancestors have taught us the Natural Ways of Living without taking medicines. He took up the initiative to spread the knowledge of our ancestral treasure of Natural Ways of Living to millions of people.

If you clearly listen his preaching, you would understand that every word spoken by him has gone through immense research on the subject. One more interesting point is that you don’t find him preach a written matter. They were experienced and expressed. Dr. Raju has followed the Natural Ways of living on self, experienced the benefits and then he preached others to enjoy the benefits of it. He continuously says that doctors tell you only what they have learnt by studying. They never say beyond that because they haven’t experienced it. Our ancestors have experienced the benefits of living in natural way free of diseases for hundreds of years. They have experienced and instructed us to follow and reap the benefits of living healthy. He took it as a mission to take our ancestral secrets of living naturally. To be honest, no one in this world has taken the mission of Nature cure treatment in such big way in a single state apart from Dr. Raju. He is like a single man army on a mission.

In this commercialized world, when thousands and thousands of rupees are being charged by the doctors for treatment, Dr. Raju never expects a rupee from anybody. His income comes from the sale of books, CDs and other essentials. Dr. Raju firmly believes that being born on the great Indian soil which has great natural resources, it is the responsibility of every citizen to preserve the great Mother Nature and follow the dharma of nature.

Dr. Raju’s first encounter with the Natural Ways of Living is very interesting one. Many of you would definitely like to know how and when Dr. Raju had happened to learn and follow the Natural Ways of Living. Well… I once heard him saying on TV, that his parents were childless for about 6 years. After following all other kinds of medicines, they approached a Prakrutika Vaidya Ashramam, a place where people are treated with Natural Ways of Living. Prakrutika Vaidya Vidhanalu or Nature cure treatment or Natural Ways of Living has no medicines to apply. The food you take is the only medicine in Nature Cure treatment. The patients in these ashrams are cured only by making and serving a natural diet. After following nature cure treatment in the Ashram, they finally gave birth to a boy child. He was none other than Dr. Raju himself. There is no doubt that he was taught the natural ways of living to some extent from childhood days.

Once during holidays to his school, Dr. Raju was sent to the Ashram for a few days. He was kept on fasting for the first two days in the Ashram. Unable to tolerate the hunger, he kept on crying for food. He was finally served food after 2 days. 2 phulkas with little honey and boiled vegetables. The moment he started eating, he realized that curry has no salt, oil and any kind of spices. They were simply boiled and served. Unhappy with the curry he threw the curry from a window and ate the phulkas with honey. The same scene continued for a couple of days. They used to serve him the boiled vegetables, honey and phulkas and he used to throw the curry out of window and eat the phulkas with honey. In the mean time he had an interesting observation about the curry he had thrown out of window. A crow visited near the curry he had thrown but flew without eating it. Again after a few hours a dog visited it and sensed the curry and left without eating it. Dr. Raju is to wonder! Even the crows and dogs aren’t eating that food, how can he suppose to eat them? After suffering from indigestion, he realized the importance of curry and started eating it regularly. Gradually he learnt the natural way of living in the ashram and returned home after a few days. He followed the same life style even during college days. He used to cook himself and eat them. During this period he experimented different types of food on his body and realized the harms and benefits of different foods. In the process he realized that to make every one follow his way of Natural Living, one has to offer the natural and healthy food without the enemies of health viz., sweet, salt, oil, ghee, tamarind, spice and yet tasty by adding their supplementary elements to the food. He therefore, experimented and discovered a new technique of cooking tasty food without sugar, salt, oil, ghee, tamarind and spice with supplements of those elements.

Finally, I would like to say that Dr. Mantena Satya Narayana Raju is an embodiment of all virtues. He is a God sent gift to the entire mankind who is on a mission to provide good health by following simple ways of living naturally. Hats off Dr. Mantena Satya Narayana Raju!
